 In 1969, Harris Merritt (standing in photo shown) and his early business partner, Ralph Grady (on bike) purchased Sutton's Cycle Center located in Goldsboro, North Carolina. The business carried Yamaha motorcycles and operated under the name of Yamaha East. Yamaha East was located at 1300 North William Street in Goldsboro. Around 1979, Harris became the sole owner, Suzuki motorcycles were added and the name was changed to Yamaha Suzuki East of Goldsboro. Shortly thereafter, Kawasaki and Honda were added.
In 1985, the dealership relocated to the present location at 2803 Royall Avenue in Goldsboro operating under the name of Fun Products. Harris was a pioneer in the motorcycle industry. His love and passion for motorcycles motivated him to become one of the top dealers of the seventies and eighties. A family business that employs his children, promoting the fun of the powersports industry, Fun Products is the result of the lifelong dream of Harris Merritt.
