If your UTV isn’t functioning normally, your best course of action is to try to diagnose the problem. The better you understand why your UTV isn’t working right, the easier it will be to find the right parts and fix the problem. If you need help, check out this guide to troubleshooting your UTV from the experts at Fun Products Goldsboro.

Battery Issues

If your UTV isn’t starting the way that it should, a dead or undercharged battery could be the cause. The former will be to be replaced, while the latter can be recharged using a tender. If these steps don’t help, check the terminal connection. Grease the terminals, treat them using an anti-corrosive, and then tighten them. If your UTV has a refillable battery and the electrolyte levels keep dropping unexpectedly, check the battery for holes.

Engine Trouble

A UTV engine that isn’t putting out as much horsepower as it should could be the result of any number of things, including an empty fuel tank, a clogged injector, a ruined ignition coil, a wrecked crankshaft position sensor, and a dirty or broken spark plug. To diagnose the cause, go through all of these parts to make sure that they are working correctly.

If your engine is too quick to overheat, check the coolant levels. If you find evidence of corrosion, it's best to flush the system. If the problem persists, check the radiator cap and motor-driven fan. If your UTV’s engine is still slow to start and you’ve eliminated the battery as a possible cause, check the fuel system. Take a look at the fuel tank, filter, electric fuel pump, and injector.
